Our stamps are made of the highest quality photopolymer and produced right here in the United States! The words photopolymer and acrylic can be interchanged and are the same product, thus clear stamps are often referred to as acrylic. Our stamps have a special coating on them to keep them from yellowing for over a year!
No, our stamps do not come with blocks. The beauty of clear stamps is that they self cling to an acrylic block. No adhesives, no cushions, nothing needed….they just self cling! So all you need to do is have one each of a variety of sizes of acrylic blocks and then you use them for ALL of your stamps! Saves money and storage space! Each of our stamp sets lists the sizes of the stamps and recommended block sizes needed for the stamp set…..just to make it easy for you! Visit our Acrylic Block Section to purchase one block or a set of blocks, and you are ready to stamp with ALL your Clear Dollar Stamps!
There are a couple of ways to clean your stamps. You can buy the stamp cleaner and scrubber that Clear Dollar Stamps carries, or you can wash them with dish soap and water. The benefits of the stamp cleaner and scrubber pad is that you can keep it with you at your work surface. I use both methods.
All clear stamps stain. Really. There is nothing you can do to avoid that except to only use a color free embossing pad and embossing powders and emboss all your images. Some inks and chalk pads stain worse than others. The best practice is to clean your stamps immediately after stamping the image. I personally, look at it as a blessing. It sure is easier to find a CLEAR stamp with a little ink on it, than to find a perfectly clear stamp that has stuck to something or dropped on the floor!
There are two things to do when your stamps start to loose their clinginess. First, I take them to my sink (put in drain plug….I’ve had many sad emails about stamps taking a trip down sewer lane) and wash them really good with an old toothbrush and dish soap. If the cling still does not return, put some rubbing alcohol on a rag and rub the back side of the stamp with the rubbing alcohol.
